Upcoming Exchange - Traffic Era
Posted at 2008-01-25 14:26:57 by TXD
Logiscape (TS25, Traffic Pods) are at it again - the entire Internet Marketing world is abuzz about one site that is (once again) promising to revolutionize online advertising. The site, of course, is Traffic Era. So does it live up to the hype? Well, it's hard to say at the moment as most of the site is still in the 'Coming Soon' phase but it certainly does look promising.
The basic surfing premise seems to work very similarly to their previous sites but with even greater emphasis on team surfing (although this time, members get to form their own teams) but where they're trying to break the mould is with the social networking side of the site. There are simple forums built right into the members area and all members receive their own mini-blog.
The really interesting looking part of the site, though, is the splash page network. According to the site, you can 'create your very own splash pages and promote them to millions of people worldwide'. Unfortunately, that's as much as we know at this point as the feature isn't due to be available until February 5th but if it actually works, this could be the feature that takes Traffic Era from just another great Logiscape exchange to something truly powerful.
We'll have to wait and see just how everything turns out but I can't help but recommend this site based on the little information that is available right now. Check it out for yourself.
New Exchange - Blue Surf

Blue-Surf is a brand new exchange and ....drumroll please... it's running a brand new in-house script. Hurrah! It's still in its infancy and only has a handful of members so far but this is definitely one to watch.
Despite still being very small, there is a great deal of activity and traffic flow is pretty good and I'm confident this will only get better with time. Signup bonuses are realistic, referral bonuses are generous and upgrades are bargain-tastic. My only criticism right now would be the lack of ready-made creatives for members to advertise the site but I'm sure there will be some splash pages coming soon.
Blue-Surf has a really nice, clean design, a solid surf bar and a good feature set with many more additions on the way. With a dedicated admin, this one should be a keeper.
You can check it out for yourself right here.
The Death Of The Iframe!

If you've surfed any traffic exchange at all in recent months, you'll know just what a pain hidden iframes have become. Pages are loaded with them running dozens, even hundreds, of pages in the background racking up fractions of cents as they steal from PPC advertisers or showering us with adware, malware, spyware and pretty much any other kind of 'ware you can think of. Some traffic exchange owners are trying to deal with this problem with sophisticated site checkers and for that I applaud them but having seen the techniques used to get these pages past verification, it's going to be an uphill battle. All is not lost, though. Your friends at The Traffic Exchange Directory have put together a Safe Surfing guide that will zap the iframes, blast the javascript and take you back to the good old days of surfing when all you had to worry about was keeping your clicking finger nimble. You can find the guide right here.
New Exchange - All Net Surf

All Net Surf is a brand new traffic exchange based on the ever popular LJ script and in many ways it is just like all the others (perhaps we need a new 'script du jour'?). However, this one has a seriously cool Super Hero theme with some truly beautiful artwork throughout the site (check out the splash pages - they rock!). All the usual features are in place - page views, text ads, banners, downline builder, internal messaging system and great promotional tools and they've just started (yesterday) a new surfing contest with cash prizes. The site is still very new and there are a couple of bugs left to work out (surf bar not always fitting in the frame, mini surf bar showing mysql errors) but just keep looking at the artwork and you'll soon forgive those....
TXD Verdict - With the amount of effort that's obviously gone into the site already, this one's got to be a keeper. Try All Net Surf yourself, you'll love it!
New Exchange - 4x4 Hits

You'd usually find Dan Moses and Brett Phillips assosciated with pro-only traffic exchanges (Clickmaster Pro, Gone Clicking) but now they've teamed up to release 4x4 Hits - a free traffic exchange that promises 4 areas of focus and 4 methods of advertising. It's a nice-looking site based on the LJ script and offers a wealth of promotional tools which will no doubt ensure fast growth. One thing I really like is the 15 second timer on the surf bar - the current trend seems to be 10 seconds (or even lower) which is just too short a time for a surfer to even look at a website, let alone read it. Myself, I'd like to see a return to the days of 30 second timers but the 15 seconds offered at 4x4 Hits is definitely a step in the right direction. Another feature that stands out is the ability to choose what categories of site you want to surf. I'm not entirely convinced that it works (the sites I was shown had nothing to do with the categories I selected) but perhaps there simply aren't enough sites in the system yet for it to be effective.
TXD Verdict - There's no doubt that an exchange run by these two guys will be a huge success so I say get in there right now.
